London’s most promising Alternative R&B voice KeepVibesNear is returning with eagerly anticipated new project ‘NOIR.’, releasing February 23rd on Melting Pot Music. With features by rappers Benny Banks and Gwadalean, and singer Jay Lewn.

With this substantial, eight-track EP, KVN reaches new heights but stays true to his warm though dark & emotive leftfield sound he likes to call NOIR R&B. “For me, NOIR. is a feeling. Something about the dark that makes us think. I see NOIR. as a prequel that represents a time in my life that was very dramatic and emotional and took me a lot of introspection to overcome,” KVN explains. Defying most sonic conventions, you could file ‘NOIR.’ under modern R&B with an electronic twist and jazzy undertones.

The previously released singles in the run-up to ‘NOIR.’ were accompanied by visuals, created by Henry Croston and co-directed by KVN himself. The black-and-white videos effortlessly transport you into his world and mind, highlighting the sentiment of his refreshingly honest and poignant lyrics. The artwork was created by London painter, designer, and long-time friend of KVN’s, UNVRSL NMD.

Raised in Romford with family ties in Nigeria, KVN is hoping his music can change the outdated narrative that men can’t show or feel the vast spectrum of emotions, good, bad and everything in between. With the theme of troubled love running through the river of KVN’s story he brings a refreshing vulnerability to his music. In a time when toxic masculinity is still so rife, he intends to make space for men to express themselves and open up. Citing the likes of Tyler The Creator, Andre 3000 and The Internet as key influences, KVN is the perfect combination of honesty and humour - an artist the UK music scene is truly craving.

As an integral part of The Silhouettes Project, KVN will release a single for their second volume in December, and has recently played Glastonbury Festival, We Out Here, Cross The Tracks and Banlieues Bleues Festival in Paris. In Summer 2022, he played shows in Hamburg, Cologne and Berlin as part of the Melting Pot Music label tour.

He has worked with a range of artists like FloFilz, Koralle, Summers Sons, BERWYN, Ray Lozano, Coops and Safiyyah. His 2021 EP ‘Now That We Know.’ took over the airwaves at BBC Radio 1Xtra, Rinse FM, Worldwide FM, Trench, Notion and New Wave Mag and was featured on Trench, Notion and New Wave Mag, to name a few.
